Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and while we often think of this day reserved for that special someone, let’s change it up. Clients call and often say, “I really should lose 20 pounds before doing this.” Says who? The magazines, the TV stars? Okay, to be perfectly real, most all of us feel like we can lose a few, and if it is for health reasons, I’m all for it. But if it is merely to feel better about ourselves because we have bought into the lie that we are only beautiful if we are thin, or have a special someone in our life, or have fewer wrinkles, or didn’t have a certain past, and the list goes on. Let’s change it up by saying, This Valentine Day fall in love with yourself; not who you wish you were, but who you are! One of the bravest things you can do in life is to let go of who you think you are supposed to be and fully embrace who you are. Your beautiful self!
We received comments from a recent client who fully embraced this concept:
“My favorite part of the experience was an emphasis on body positivity; there was no commentary during the shoot or prioritizing looking thin or hiding my body at all. Everything was positive and geared towards accentuating and embracing myself. They also show the photos without being touched up, which I appreciated, and the default package is one without any heavy airbrushing/bodyshaping/thigh thinning. Really loved the ability to not play into some of our society’s more damaging beauty standards.”
She nailed it! I’m also very thankful that this was her experience with CYS. Our goal is to bring out your confidence to feel sexy and beautiful as a woman. So this Valentine Day, whatever stage in life you are at, fall in love with yourself!
